Itunes Tools
So iTunes is a great juke box program. I do like iTunes. Easy and convenient. But I hate Digital Rights Management! BOO! So it gets me frustrated when I try to make a home movie and want to use a song from my iTunes library and can’t because of freaking DRM. So I did some searching and found some nifty tools. Please know that I’m on a Windows XP machine. So the tools I’m recommending are for XP only.
- QTFairUse6 - This program will remove DRM from your iTunes purchased music and turn it into M4A (MPEG 4 Audio) files and backup the MP4 files that you purchased. Takes about 26 seconds per song conversion. But heck, turn it on leave it over night and let it convert your whole library.
- iTunes Library Updater - So how often do we move files around on our computers? For me, all the time. I used to have numerous broken links in my iTunes library. Fixing these all is a pain in the Buttocks. This program validates all your files and tries to find the correct files for you. Not one by one, it does your whole library in one click.
