Designers with Developer Skills

http://www.37signals.com/svn/posts/1101-designers-who-also-develop-have-more-power

I thought this was a particularly great article. 26AM operates strongly on this principle of having a single person capable of many roles. My developer is not only a developer, he is a server admin, handles everything server related. Similar to my role, I handle everything designed related, however I do all the underlying css and xhtml that gives our sites their look and feel. Like wise mr. developer also knows action script and how to use flex. Very encouraged by this article.

In another world, today’s sermon at church was particularly good! The parable of the talents. I’d never heard it explained the way Pastor Dave/David Finch explained it. Very clear about our roles and whats expected of us by our heavenly father. The thought of not being compared was a huge new understanding for me. I loved it! Thanks PD.

Phoenix Suns: Western Conference Champs

Saturday, April 19th, 2008

I’d like to make my predictions and see if they come true. This is a little out of the ordinary for my blog considering it’s generally web/tech/geek related. However after feeling inspired watching this morning’s matchup between San Antonio and Phoenix…thats my prediction.

Twitter is dangerous!

Okay…is it just me or does publicly telling everyone everything all the time just seem scarry? I think it does. Twitter is dangerous! Thats just my opinion.

What in the World? Indie Bug removed from Google?

Tuesday, April 15th, 2008

Okay, so here I am blogging again about my new website, Indie Bug. I’m working on this with Josh, my buddy, Google took off my previous blog post. I wonder if it has to do with the Flash File embedded into it. I am not sure. Either way, I am going to blog about it again. IndieBug.com is a website designed for independent artists and bands who want to get their music out to the masses. It is a simple concept. List your CDs on our site, we take a tiny bit of the profit to cover our costs, in exchange, you get to customize the CD listing page, a Flash Widget for your webpage (myspace, blog, virb, facebook, etc.), you get to sell your CDs on our site through SMS (Text Messaging). Super Innovative! I’m not gonna say we’re the next … whatever … 37 signals said not to do that. Indie Bug is the next revolution in the music Industry!

IndieBUG.com

So I started working with Josh on a project called Indie Bug. It’s aimed at Independent Bands and Artists. The main focus is to help Artists sell their music in lots of ways and for cheap. No hidden fees and all that. Check it out…

You can see a working version of our Flash Widget on Starcher Scene http://www.starcherscene.com/indiebug-demo/ You can pickup our first indie artist (The Denouement) on the widget as well! Check out Josh Starcher’s blog too!
