San Diego Update

Max Back

We had a great time in San Diego! I haven’t had that much relaxation since, 1982! An update on life. Had this great talk with Maxine and Ben the other night after worship practice. It’s not often that you find people in this world who really connect with your heart. Talking is good, but talking to people who you know don’t just talk but will do something about what they talk about is extremely Good! Currently reading Ezekial, Romans, Knowledge of the Holy and “The Life and Death of Mr. Badman”

Alot of Different Stuff

Friday, May 12th, 2006

Well, I finally migrated a bunch of entries from my old old blog onto this site. I will put my xanga stuff in here soon too. But thats that.

I started re-reading a book called “Knowledge of the Holy.” I’d read it the first time and was blown away by it. But then after a few months I forgot just how blown away. So far I’ve gotten to chapter two and it’s great! Tozer opens with Ezekial 1. And in all honesty I can’t remember the last time I read Ezekial. I know I’ve read it, but when is another question. So I decided having just finished Romans that I would trot over to Ezekial.

Tozer’s biggest claim so far is that the failings of most Christians (in relation to their walk with God) stems from a wrong view of who God is. And after reading Ezekial 1, I must say, I do agree so far. Ezekial stumbles over his words again and again in an attempt to describe God. I can’t say I’d do any better than Ezekial. But his stumblings give us an amazing picture of truly how Awesome God is. Check this out “This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. When I saw it, I fell facedown, and I heard the voice of one speaking.”Â

I will write more about this as I learn more and discover more about it. Onto other life. I started more diligently reading the dictionary. Yeah I know, it sounds uber geeky. But my word power is pretty weak. Not nearly as strong as it could be. So I put dictionary.com word of the day on my google start page. Cool stuff! The need for eloquent speech has never been so severe. F bombs seem to replace silence. S*** seems to be the universal descriptor for good and bad things. I don’t get it. I suppose it’s just a personal thing. But thats one quest.

Today I’ll be leading music out at the State Capitol for some youth ralley called battle cry. And this is my life at present in a nut shell :-)

I have a place that I call home
I have a place where I can go
When I am sad you will find me here
I have a place that I will fight
In this place is my heart my life
When I am glad you will find me here

Home again
Welcome home to what you are
Welcome home to all you know
Welcome home
Home Again
This is where you got your wings
This is all your hopes and dreams
