God of Gods

Saturday, April 22nd, 2006

Taken from Deut 10:12-22
Over all the world
The sky and all that walks this earth
None can e’r deserve
The fear the glory you deserve

I bow before you now
I boldy now declare

God of Gods
Lord of Lords
Mighty and Awesome
you are
None can compare
None will I give
The glory I give to you

Defending the weak and the poor
bringing salvation to all who’ll receive
As an offering you desire
wholly my life in devotion to you

No Kick Back

Saturday, April 22nd, 2006

No kick back on the weekend. It’s time to do more work. Growth hurts often times. Hurt does not always indicate growth. However a great hurt always indicates an opportunity for a greater growth. I’m not talking phyical growth but spiritual and personal growth.

Good Friends

Monday, April 10th, 2006

This past weekend I started thinking about my friends, the qualities that make up each friendship, and how much I really value the friendships. A couple of happenings really got me thinking about the topic. The first was the highschool group at my church (LIFE). This month we are doing a series on friendships. We are covering things such as, The qualities of a good friendship, what to do when friendships go bad, how to develop good friendships, how to witness to your friends and others as well.

Another thing that added to my thoughts on the topic was hanging out with my buddy Mark. He was considering taking a job in another city. It made me think of the benefits for him but also the disadvantages of relocating. The job was one that I think would have suited him well. However, yesterday he called me to tell me he is not going to pursue the job anymore. He decided that he would stay in town because of the relationships and community he already had here. I agree with his decision. I think his reason for staying is a valid one. Especially after time in prayer and giving the decision to God. I am glad he’s staying.

I’m not really good at keeping in touch. Especially over long distances. But lately as I get older (not really old), I realize more and more the need for good friends. I realize that developing a community of good friends is not easy. It takes work to develop good friendships. I’m sure I’ll have more on this subject some other time, but for now, thats all I have to say.
